Look Carefully at Every Letter
Some words look very similar, even when they are spelled differently. Practising careful comparisons can help learners notice letter order and spelling patterns.
Helpful detective strategies:
- Look at the first letter.
- Check the vowels in the middle.
- Look carefully at the last letters.
- Notice whether any letters are missing or reversed.
- Use Compare Letters to examine differences.
This is a visual word-comparison activity. It complements, but does not replace, systematic teaching of reading and spelling.
