Learning Tricky Words
Some common words contain unusual or less predictable spelling patterns. Learning to recognise these patterns can make reading and spelling easier.
Helpful learning strategies:
- Listen to the word being spoken.
- Look carefully at each letter.
- Notice the part of the spelling that is tricky.
- Say the word and look at it again.
- Practise without rushing or worrying about mistakes.
